Deutsche Telekom, Alibaba Among 12 New Members On Hyperledger
Hyperledger, the open source permissioned blockchain project, gave the list of 12 new members, including some major banks, consortia and cloud companies. General members have certain prospects for marketing and recruitment and can take part in committees only for members.
Notably, most of the general members are from China. They are: Alibaba Cloud, BlockDao (Hangzhou) Information Technology, Citi, Deutsche Telekom, Guangzhishu (Beijing) Technology Co. Ltd, Guangzhou Technology Innovation Space Information Technology Co. Ltd, KEB Hana Bank, HealthVerity, MediConCen, Techrock, we.trade and Xooa.
With this, the total number of general members increases to 256.
This month, four new members joined Hyperledger: the Saint Petersburg Blockchain Developers Association, the Hunan University Business School, the Sun Yat-sun University and the Wall Street Blockchain Alliance. Membership is limited to pre-approved non-profits, open – source projects and public bodies. There are now 16 members in the association.
The latest members were declared at the Hyperledger Global Forum in Basel, Switzerland.
“The growing Hyperledger community reflects the increasing importance of open source efforts to build enterprise blockchain technologies across industries and markets,” said executive director Brian Behlendorf. “The latest members showcase the widening interest in and impact of DLT and Hyperledger.”
