Expedia & Travala.com Partner To Widen Cryptocurrency Based Accommodation Bookings
Travala.com has clinched a deal with Expedia under which customers can book any of the 700,000 accommodations by paying with cryptocurrency. Travala.com platform already facilitates booking of over 2 million accommodations spread across 230 countries, using cryptocurrency as mode of payment.
Alfonso Paredes, Senior Vice President at Expedia Group, revealed the company’s intention to step up Travala.com’s operations at a rate quicker than it has been doing so far. Additionally, he stated that the company also accredits innovation and the significance of permitting users to select their choice of payment.
The latest facility is an outcome of partnership with associate firm of travel behemoth Expedia, also referred to as Expedia Partner Solutions (EPS). Under the partnership, Travala.com had access to Rapid application programming interface of Travala.com, allowing firms to provide Expedia’s accommodation service to its customers.
Last November, Travala.com clinched an identical agreement with Booking.com and included more than 90,000 accommodations to its platform. Info shared by the company in January revealed that its revenue rose 33%, following the partnership.
Additionally, cryptocurrency supported accommodation booking platform provider Travala.com also integrated with cryptocurrency supporting flight booking service TraveByBit in May. This integration is likely to step up the platform’s ability to offer a better service to travelers who wish to transact using cryptocurrencies.
