Blockchain Focused Simba Chain Secures Another Deal from US DoD

Blockchain focused firm Simba Chain, aided by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), has clinched another contract from the US government.

Being a long-standing front-runner of the US armed forces such as the Air Force and Navy, Simba Chain will soon develop a blockchain venture for the US Department of Defense (DoD).

The DoD has given Simba Chain a $200,000 deal to create a proof-of-concept for a blockchain-powered platform for safe management of the authority’s research and development documentation.

The contract is categorized as a Phase I contract within the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, which fosters small enterprises to interact with federal research that has the capability for commercialization.

As per the contract, Simba Chain will be setting up a blockchain venture, referred to as ALAMEDA, an acronym for Authenticity Ledger for Auditable Military Enclaved Data Access. ALAMEDA is expected to be unveiled on June 1, 2020 and become effective on September 30, 2020.

If the venture triumphs, the Phase I would act as a platform for a likely $1 million SBIR Phase II deal for additional commercialization.

Simba Chain must establish a single platform for efficiently disbursing R&D linked records and scientific info with blockchain innovation.

The blockchain framework would guarantee the veracity and origin of roughly 4.50 million records for 4,000 users for the Defense Technical information Center, which operates under the DoD (Department of Defense).

Simba Chain CEO Joel Neidig underlined that the latest blockchain venture intends to “eliminate third-party bad actors, and otherwise allow secure direct connections between trusted sources.”

The Simba Chain platform can be synchronized with several blockchains such as JPMorgan’s Quorum, Ethereum, Bitcoin-powered RSK, Stellar, and also IBM’s Hyperledger. Furthermore, Simba Chain deploys Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform.

Following its establishment three years back, Simba Chain has obtained several awards from the US governments until now. Initially, the firm used a DARPA grant to build a safe, unhackable messaging and transaction system for the US military.

Earlier in February, a California-based survey tem of the US Navy awarded Simba Chain a $10 million grant to build a safe messaging platform for the DoD. Earlier, the US Air Force selected Simba Chain as a technology associate to partner on blockchain powered supply chain innovation.
