Pocket’s Decentralized Infrastructure Enhances AI Agent Efficiency

Reliable and Scalable Solutions for Web3 Applications

Pocket Network (POKT)

Decentralized infrastructure protocols such as Pocket Network address critical challenges by allowing applications to access blockchain data through a global network of independent node operators. As an open data layer, Pocket Network’s distributed approach enhances reliability, scalability, cost efficiency, and security for AI-driven applications.

AI agents require uninterrupted access to on-chain data to function effectively. For example, AI-powered trading bots depend on real-time market data and instant execution to capitalize on price fluctuations. If a centralized RPC provider experiences an outage, these bots may fail to process on-chain updates, leading to inaccurate decisions and financial losses.

Decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms mitigate this risk by utilizing protocols like Chainlink to reduce reliance on centralized APIs for price feeds. Similarly, Pocket Network distributes queries across independent nodes, ensuring data requests are processed even in the event of node failures. As a result, AI trading bots operating in DeFi liquidity pools remain functional despite disruptions affecting multiple node operators.

Cost-Effective Token Economy for AI Agents

AI-driven applications are resource-intensive, making traditional pay-per-query models unsustainable due to high costs associated with increased query volumes. This poses financial challenges for high-frequency use cases such as AI agents managing DeFi market activities.

We have one mission, and one mission only: provide 𝘂𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 🫡

When access to core blockchain data is cut off, which many people rely upon, there are real world financial impacts.

Therefore, a fully decentralized communication protocol is needed…

In contrast, decentralized infrastructure providers like Pocket Network implement a predictable and cost-efficient token-based model. Developers within the Pocket ecosystem stake and burn Pocket tokens (POKT) proportionately, ensuring consistent network access without unexpected charges during periods of high activity. Unlike traditional pricing structures, this model eliminates surcharges or additional fees when network demand spikes.

The cost disparity between centralized and decentralized AI infrastructure is significant. Proprietary platforms such as OpenAI reportedly incur expenses exceeding $100 million, with daily operational costs of approximately $1 million for AI training and inference. Conversely, open-source projects like DeepSeek require around $5.5 million, while decentralized computing on platforms such as Akash can reduce large language model (LLM) training costs by up to 85% compared to centralized alternatives.

✔️ Integrates with the Shannon Upgrade
✔️ Can be served through PATH Gateway
✔️ Earn $POKT for running your model

Supporting High-Frequency AI Workloads

AI agents handle substantial workloads, and traditional infrastructures designed for low or static query volumes struggle to accommodate them. This results in high latency and performance inefficiencies.

The success of blockchain networks like Solana and applications such as Phantom in managing high-traffic events, including the $TRUMP presidential memecoin transactions, highlights the strength of decentralized infrastructure. Social platforms like BlueSky and AT Protocol further exemplify this scalability.

Pocket Network is built to manage extensive query volumes and has processed close to one trillion relays. This capability allows developers to deploy AI agents on the network with real-time, high-frequency data access across more than 60 blockchain networks without performance bottlenecks.

By providing a robust and decentralized framework, Pocket Network empowers Web3 AI agents to operate autonomously in a scalable and reliable manner. This aligns with the broader decentralization principles of Web3, ensuring AI-driven applications benefit from enhanced efficiency and network resilience.
