Chromia and TAC Join Forces to Power Decentralized Telegram Apps

Partnership aims to enhance blockchain functionality for Telegram Mini Apps through interoperability and decentralization

Chromia has formalized a strategic collaboration with TAC, a purpose-built Layer-1 network focused on resolving compatibility challenges between Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) systems and The Open Network (TON). This alliance is poised to transform the blockchain experience within Telegram Mini Apps (TMAs) by integrating TAC’s bridging capabilities with Chromia’s decentralized infrastructure.

The partnership introduces a framework that facilitates blockchain-based operations for TMAs, particularly by enabling the use of Johnson-based smart contracts within the Telegram environment. These contracts, tailored for the TON ecosystem, circumvent many of the limitations typically encountered by EVM-compatible decentralized applications (dApps) on Telegram. This shift is expected to ease the deployment of more complex blockchain logic on the messaging platform without compromising functionality or security.

Through this integration, Chromia will allow developers to offload application logic, metadata, and user activity data onto its proprietary subchains. By doing so, backend processes of Mini Apps can be fully decentralized and transparently verified, a feature currently absent in most centralized alternatives. This decentralized architecture is designed to elevate trust and transparency for end users, while simultaneously providing developers with the tools to build more robust Web3 applications.

Telegram Mini Apps have increasingly been recognized as valuable gateways for mainstream Web3 adoption. Despite their potential, Ethereum-based apps have faced technical roadblocks due to Telegram’s native focus on TON wallets and tokens. TAC’s role as a compatibility layer resolves this disconnect by supporting interoperability between Ethereum protocols and the TON blockchain, thereby extending the usability of Ethereum-based applications within the Telegram environment.

The collaboration also brings innovation to the application stack itself. Presently, many TMAs rely on centralized cloud platforms for executing logic and data storage, which poses concerns around trust and data integrity. By leveraging Chromia’s decentralized capabilities, developers can now migrate these functions to a blockchain-secured environment. This shift aims to provide a more reliable and transparent experience for users, aligning with the core ethos of decentralization.

📢We are proud to announce a NEW integration and partnership with @TacBuild! 🥳

A notable implementation of this Chromia-TAC stack is already underway with XOOB, a Telegram Mini App that integrates gamified peer-to-peer (PvP) features and play-to-earn mechanics. XOOB facilitates user engagement through USDT deposits on the TON network, which are routed via TAC to decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms like Morpho and Euler. These deposits generate yield, which is then shared between the users and the developers, creating a sustainable incentive structure.

Chromia’s subchains serve as the backbone for XOOB, capturing all gameplay data, financial transactions, and user interactions. This approach demonstrates how a fully decentralized protocol can seamlessly operate within a mainstream application like Telegram. The design of XOOB exemplifies the practical benefits of the Chromia-TAC integration, offering a model for scalable, user-centric, and trustless Web3 applications that are both accessible and secure.

As the Web3 ecosystem continues to expand, such collaborations are expected to play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between user-friendly platforms and the decentralized technologies that power them. The Chromia-TAC partnership not only enhances the capabilities of TMAs but also sets the stage for broader innovation within the Telegram and TON ecosystems.
