Ondo Finance has introduced a tokenized equity platform called Ondo Global Markets, designed to give non-U.S. investors access to over 100 American stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The service, which went live on Ethereum on September 3, marks a significant advancement in the tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs) by extending blockchain-based investment opportunities beyond stablecoins and tokenized treasuries.
The new platform enables participants from regions including Asia-Pacific, Europe, Africa, and Latin America to mint and redeem tokenized shares of major U.S. companies and funds on trading days, operating on a 24/5 basis. Securities supporting these tokens are held by U.S.-registered broker-dealers, offering investors exposure to blue-chip equities such as Apple and Nvidia as well as widely traded ETFs like QQQ.
Bridging Traditional Assets with Blockchain
Ondo has collaborated with infrastructure providers including BitGo, Ledger, and Chainlink to facilitate custody, price feeds, and interoperability. The tokenized products are designed to behave similarly to stablecoins, allowing transfers between wallets and integration into decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. This setup gives investors opportunities not only to hold tokenized equities but also to deploy them in broader blockchain ecosystems.
The company clarified that the platform remains closed to U.S. residents due to regulatory restrictions. Executives described the launch as a step toward making U.S. securities as accessible on-chain as the U.S. dollar has become through stablecoins. Ondo Finance also shared plans to expand rapidly, with an ambition to list over 1,000 assets by the end of 2025. The roadmap further includes extending services to the Solana blockchain and using interoperability solutions such as LayerZero to enable cross-chain transactions.
Token Performance and Market Reception
The tokenized equities mirror the real-time performance of their underlying assets, ensuring that their value remains directly linked to traditional market movements. For instance, NVDAon and GOOGLon tokens track Nvidia and Alphabet shares respectively. Recently, GOOGLon registered a 10% increase in value following a favorable court ruling for Google in an antitrust case. In addition, Ondo provides exposure to the total economic return of securities, with price feeds supported by Chainlink and continuous transfer capability subject to jurisdictional rules.

The introduction of Ondo Global Markets has positioned the company among the first movers offering tokenized U.S. equities at scale. By providing tokens backed one-to-one with underlying assets and enabling 24/5 redemption, the platform reduces barriers for international investors seeking stable and regulated access to American financial markets. Following the launch, Ondo’s native token ONDO recorded a 4% price rise, trading at $0.96, reflecting positive sentiment from the community regarding the project’s potential.
A Competitive and Evolving Landscape
The entry of Ondo into tokenized equities comes at a time when major trading platforms such as Robinhood, Gemini, and Kraken are also exploring similar services. The growing momentum highlights increasing demand for blockchain-based investment vehicles that bridge traditional and decentralized markets. However, industry observers have noted that certain challenges remain unresolved. These include limited shareholder rights for token holders and the complexities of navigating fragmented regulatory frameworks across jurisdictions.
Despite these hurdles, Ondo’s initiative is being seen as a pivotal step in aligning blockchain innovation with mainstream financial markets. By combining blockchain efficiency with the familiarity of traditional assets, Ondo Global Markets could serve as a model for how tokenized securities evolve in the coming years. The firm’s aggressive expansion plans and multi-chain strategy signal a vision of global accessibility, where real-world assets are seamlessly integrated into the decentralized financial ecosystem.
