Nexus and DMCC Forge Alliance to Advance Blockchain and Gaming

Nexus has announced a strategic partnership with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) to jointly advance blockchain, gaming, and Web3 innovation. The collaboration, formalized on October 8, marks a significant step toward expanding the global reach of both organizations’ digital ecosystems, particularly across the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia.

Under the agreement, Nexus has been designated as a gaming ecosystem cooperation partner of DMCC. This partnership is expected to drive a series of initiatives that will strengthen Dubai’s position as a global digital innovation hub while opening new growth channels for Korean and international startups in the gaming and blockchain sectors.

Strengthening the Gaming and Web3 Ecosystem

As part of the collaboration, Nexus plans to spearhead a range of activities, including the operation of onboarding and accelerator programs aimed at nurturing emerging game studios. The company also intends to facilitate funding opportunities for Web3 and artificial intelligence (AI) startups, helping them connect with a broader global investment network. Additionally, Nexus aims to attract new global partners, particularly from the Asian market, and co-host events such as hackathons, workshops, and seminars that encourage knowledge exchange and collaboration among developers, investors, and innovators.

In alignment with Nexus’s efforts, DMCC will extend comprehensive support to the partnership. This includes formally recognizing Nexus as a gaming ecosystem cooperation partner and offering joint marketing and networking assistance. DMCC also plans to connect the initiative with key stakeholders, including government bodies, venture capitalists, crypto exchanges, and startup incubators. Furthermore, the organization will provide guidance on publishing and market entry strategies for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, along with access to office space and infrastructure within its landmark Uptown Tower in Dubai.

Nexus has been strategically expanding its international presence, having established a local subsidiary, Nexus Hub FZCO, in Dubai earlier in April. This move underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its influence in the Middle Eastern and European markets. The organization’s collaboration with Nexus is viewed as an important step in linking established gaming markets such as South Korea with emerging hubs in the MENA region.

Nexus CEO Jang Hyun-kuk emphasized that Dubai’s approach to building structured and scalable digital markets closely aligns with the goals of the Cross ecosystem, which Nexus supports. DMCC Free Zone Executive Director Ahmed Hamza highlighted that South Korea’s gaming industry ranks among the largest globally and plays a crucial role in driving international content exports. He further noted that Dubai is emerging as a key strategic hub within the global digital economy. According to him, the collaboration with Nexus will act as a bridge between two innovation ecosystems—Korea’s mature game development sector and Dubai’s rapidly expanding digital infrastructure—while providing Korean enterprises with both immediate market access and long-term business value in the region.
