Firm Partners With Adclear Ahead of UK’s 2027 Crypto Rules

Blockchain.com has partnered with Adclear to introduce artificial intelligence-powered compliance checks across its United Kingdom marketing operations, as the cryptocurrency industry prepares for tighter regulatory requirements scheduled to take effect in October 2027.

The integration is designed to automate the review of financial promotions and help ensure Blockchain.com’s digital marketing materials comply with requirements established by the Financial Conduct Authority. The initiative comes as crypto businesses operating in the UK face increasing scrutiny over how digital assets and related services are promoted to consumers.

Blockchain.com has processed more than $1.2 trillion in transactions globally and serves a user base associated with more than 90 million wallets. The scale of its operations makes automated compliance increasingly important as the volume of marketing content and regulatory requirements continues to expand.

The partnership with Adclear will allow Blockchain.com to automatically screen UK marketing materials for potential FCA compliance issues before they are published, replacing a largely manual review process with real-time automated checks.

AI Reviews Marketing Content in Real Time

The Adclear technology is being integrated into Blockchain.com’s existing marketing workflow, allowing promotional materials to be assessed as they are created. The system can review content across social media, websites and advertising campaigns and identify potential issues involving promotional language, creative material and required disclosures.

The automated process is intended to identify content that could fail to meet FCA standards before it reaches consumers. This gives compliance teams an opportunity to address potential problems earlier in the publication process rather than relying solely on manual reviews after marketing materials have been prepared.

The technology also creates automated audit trails. These records can provide internal compliance teams with documentation showing how promotional materials were reviewed and what actions were taken when potential regulatory issues were identified.

For a company operating at Blockchain.com’s scale, automation could help maintain a high volume of marketing activity without reducing the level of regulatory oversight.

UK Crypto Marketing Faces Tighter Rules

The partnership follows Blockchain.com’s official registration with the FCA earlier this year. The company provides custody and brokerage services in the UK and must ensure that its financial promotions satisfy the regulator’s expectations for consumer communications.

The FCA requires financial promotions to be presented in a manner that is fair, clear and not misleading. Cryptoasset firms have faced particular regulatory attention because of the potential risks associated with digital assets and the possibility that consumers may not fully understand the volatility or complexity involved.

The regulatory environment is expected to become more demanding when the next phase of the UK framework arrives in October 2027. The new regime is expected to introduce additional requirements for cryptoasset businesses, including stricter risk warnings and cooling-off periods.

By implementing automated compliance controls ahead of the 2027 deadline, Blockchain.com is seeking to build regulatory safeguards into its marketing process before the expanded requirements take effect.

Automation Designed to Scale With Operations

The use of AI-based compliance tools could become increasingly important for large digital asset companies as regulators place greater emphasis on promotional accuracy and consumer protection.

Manual compliance reviews can require substantial staff time, particularly when companies publish content across multiple channels and jurisdictions. Automated screening can instead provide an initial layer of review across large volumes of material while allowing compliance professionals to focus on more complex or higher-risk cases.

For Blockchain.com, the system is designed to support marketing operations serving a large international user base while maintaining specific controls for its UK activities.

The partnership also reflects a broader shift toward embedding regulatory technology directly into financial companies’ operational workflows. Rather than treating compliance as a final approval stage, firms are increasingly using automated systems to identify potential violations during the content creation process.

As the UK moves toward its expanded cryptoasset regulatory framework, Blockchain.com’s adoption of AI-powered promotional screening represents an effort to prepare its operations in advance. The company will still need to maintain appropriate human oversight, but automated checks could provide an additional layer of protection against inadvertent violations.

The move positions AI-driven compliance as a key component of Blockchain.com’s strategy to manage UK marketing at scale while adapting to the FCA’s increasingly stringent standards for cryptoasset promotions.
