AhnLab Launches TRUSS for On-Premise Digital Asset Management

AhnLab Blockchain Company (ABC)

AhnLab Blockchain Company, the digital asset infrastructure subsidiary of South Korean cybersecurity company AhnLab, has launched TRUSS, an enterprise digital asset platform designed to operate directly within financial institutions’ internal networks.

The company announced the platform on Sept. 22, positioning it as an on-premises infrastructure solution for financial institutions seeking to establish digital asset operations while retaining control over sensitive information and operational processes.

TRUSS is designed to keep cryptographic keys, approval policies and transaction data within a financial institution’s internal network, allowing the institution to operate its digital asset infrastructure directly rather than relying on an externally hosted platform.

The platform combines several functions required for digital asset operations into a single architecture. ABC said the approach is intended to address the security, governance, and operational requirements that financial institutions face when incorporating digital assets into existing business environments.

On-Premise Architecture Keeps Data In-House

Unlike cloud-based infrastructure, TRUSS is installed directly on a client’s internal network. The architecture allows financial institutions to retain control over cryptographic keys and transaction-related information within their own environments.

The platform also incorporates approval mechanisms that can be configured around an institution’s internal security requirements and authorization procedures. This allows organizations to establish transaction approval processes consistent with their existing governance structures.

ABC said the system combines asset management capabilities with functions intended to support the expansion of digital asset businesses. A central infrastructure layer handles common control functions, while additional modules can be connected according to a financial institution’s requirements.

The model is designed to reduce the need for institutions to develop separate systems whenever they expand into another digital asset business area.

Modular Design Targets Financial Institutions

TRUSS uses a modular architecture in which individual functions are provided as standardized products connected to the platform’s core infrastructure. Institutions can activate required capabilities through licensing rather than undertaking a new platform development project for each additional business requirement.

ABC said this structure allows financial companies to expand their digital asset operations while maintaining their existing financial systems.

The approach could be particularly relevant for institutions that need to introduce digital asset capabilities without replacing established internal infrastructure. Instead of commissioning separate development projects as business requirements change, organizations can add modules to the existing TRUSS environment.

The modular licensing structure is intended to let financial institutions add digital asset functions as their businesses expand without redesigning the underlying platform or commissioning separate system builds for each new capability.

The platform brings together asset management and business expansion functions on top of common infrastructure, allowing the same core architecture to support multiple operational requirements.

Security and Institutional Control

ABC said TRUSS incorporates its proprietary multiparty computation technology, or MPC, alongside security standards developed by AhnLab. MPC technology can be used to distribute cryptographic key control across multiple parties or components, reducing reliance on a single private-key storage point.

The company also draws on its experience operating non-custodial wallet services and its work as a virtual asset service provider reporting business.

ABC said these elements have been consolidated into the TRUSS platform to provide financial institutions with an enterprise-oriented digital asset infrastructure that combines security technology, operational experience and regulatory knowledge.

The company’s head of blockchain operations, Joo-young Lim, said the critical consideration in institutional digital asset infrastructure is not simply whether new technology has been introduced, but where operational authority and data are maintained.

Lim said TRUSS was developed to transfer an architecture tested through ABC’s commercial services into a financial institution’s internal environment while allowing the institution to retain operational control.

Digital Asset Infrastructure for Institutional Adoption

The launch comes as financial institutions continue to assess ways to incorporate digital assets into established financial operations while maintaining internal security and governance standards.

For institutions, on-premises deployment can provide greater control over sensitive infrastructure, while configurable approval procedures can help align digital asset transactions with existing authorization policies.

By combining MPC technology, AhnLab’s security practices, non-custodial wallet experience, and regulatory operating knowledge in one enterprise platform, TRUSS is aimed at giving financial institutions a controlled infrastructure for expanding digital asset operations.

ABC’s modular approach also gives institutions a way to scale functionality as their digital asset businesses develop. The platform’s longer-term adoption will depend on how financial institutions assess its security, integration requirements, regulatory suitability, and operating costs within their existing environments.
