Tangem Expands Crypto Payments With Visa Card and USDC Cashback

Switzerland-based crypto hardware company Tangem has expanded its Tangem Pay service with a physical Visa card and a cashback program that rewards eligible purchases in USDC, strengthening the platform’s push to make digital assets more practical for everyday spending.

The initial physical-card release is limited to 5,000 white cards. Each card is issued in the cardholder’s name and delivered to the address provided during the ordering process. The cards can be used for online and in-store purchases at merchants that accept Visa, while also supporting cash withdrawals through ATMs.

The launch extends Tangem Pay beyond its existing virtual card, providing users with a physical payment option for situations where digital wallets or virtual cards may not be accepted.

Physical Card Targets Everyday Crypto Spending

The physical Tangem Pay card is designed for routine purchases, including groceries, fuel, and travel expenses. Users can also withdraw cash, although ATM transactions are subject to limits.

Cash withdrawals are capped at $250 per transaction, with a maximum of three withdrawals permitted within a 24-hour period. Spending limits vary depending on the user’s Tangem Pay plan.

The company has positioned the physical card as a bridge between crypto-based asset management and conventional payment infrastructure. The primary objective is to allow users to spend crypto more easily in everyday situations without relying solely on digital wallets, exchanges, or separate payment products.

Tangem Pay Head Andrey Ilinskiy indicated that the company wants crypto to become part of routine consumer spending rather than remaining primarily associated with wallets and cryptocurrency exchanges.

USDC Cashback Added to Tangem Pay

Alongside the physical card, Tangem Pay has introduced a cashback program for qualifying purchases of at least $30.

Basic plan users receive 1% cashback, while Plus plan users receive 2%. Monthly cashback is capped at $100 for Basic users and $300 for Plus users. The rewards are credited directly to users’ accounts in USDC at the end of each billing cycle.

The structure differs from traditional card rewards programs that commonly distribute points or proprietary reward units. Instead, Tangem is using the dollar-pegged stablecoin USDC as the cashback asset.

Eligibility for the rewards depends on the user’s region and the merchant category. Card purchases do not incur transaction fees under any of the available plans, although foreign-exchange fees can apply.

Stablecoins Move Deeper Into Payment Infrastructure

Tangem’s expansion comes as cryptocurrency-linked card spending continues to grow. Crypto card spending reportedly more than tripled year over year, reaching $1.04 billion in July 2026.

Stablecoins are also becoming increasingly integrated with established payment networks. Visa reported annualized stablecoin settlement volume of about $7 billion as of March 2026, highlighting the growing use of dollar-pegged digital assets within conventional payment infrastructure.

By combining a Visa-enabled physical card with USDC-based rewards, Tangem is bringing stablecoin functionality closer to the experience of a conventional payment card while retaining crypto as the underlying financial asset.

The move also addresses a longstanding friction point in crypto payments. Consumers using digital assets for everyday purchases may otherwise need to transfer funds between wallets, exchanges, bank accounts, and dedicated payment services before completing a transaction.

Tangem‘s broader ecosystem combines hardware-based digital asset ownership through physical cards and wearable rings with fiat-related services and payment capabilities. The physical Tangem Pay card therefore represents an expansion of that model, giving users a more familiar way to access spending functionality.

The combination of physical Visa payments, virtual cards, and direct USDC cashback could reduce the number of steps required to use digital assets for routine purchases, while giving users rewards in a widely used stablecoin rather than a separate points system.
