Sui, Samsung Bring USDC to Cross-Chain and Mobile Payments

sui blockchain

Sui Network has expanded its USDC infrastructure through two developments that could broaden the stablecoin’s use across both blockchain applications and consumer payments. The network has launched Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol V2, enabling USDC transfers between Sui and 29 other supported blockchains, while Samsung Wallet has integrated USDC on Sui for users seeking to make digital payments.

The developments strengthen Sui’s position within the stablecoin ecosystem by connecting its blockchain to other networks while also bringing USDC closer to mainstream mobile users. Together, the initiatives could support applications ranging from decentralized finance and corporate treasury management to cross-border payments.

CCTP V2 expands Sui’s USDC connectivity

CCTP V2 is designed to allow USDC to move across supported blockchain networks through a standardized transfer framework. The integration is intended to reduce some of the complexity developers face when creating applications that require access to liquidity and users across multiple blockchain ecosystems.

Sui’s integration of CCTP V2 enables native USDC transfers between Sui and 29 other supported blockchains, giving developers a simpler infrastructure layer for building cross-chain payment and treasury products.

Cross-chain interoperability has become increasingly important as blockchain networks develop independently while users and businesses seek seamless access to assets across different ecosystems. Stablecoins such as USDC are particularly relevant because they provide a dollar-denominated settlement asset that can be used across payments, trading, and financial applications.

The integration could therefore increase the utility of USDC within Sui while allowing developers to design applications that interact with liquidity beyond the network’s native ecosystem.

Samsung Wallet brings USDC to mobile users

The CCTP V2 launch coincides with another development aimed at expanding Sui-based USDC usage. Samsung Wallet has integrated USDC on Sui, extending the stablecoin’s potential reach to users of Samsung’s mobile payment ecosystem.

The integration could make USDC more accessible for everyday transactions by bringing the asset into an established digital wallet environment. Rather than requiring users to interact with specialized crypto applications, the integration provides a consumer-facing route for using USDC through Samsung Wallet.

The move also highlights a potential shift in how blockchain networks can support payments. Sui’s infrastructure is being used not only for decentralized applications and cross-chain asset transfers but also as a settlement layer connected to a widely used mobile wallet platform.

The Samsung Wallet integration gives Sui a consumer-facing USDC use case, potentially connecting blockchain-based dollar payments with a familiar mobile wallet experience.

The combination of Samsung Wallet support and CCTP V2 could provide complementary channels for USDC activity. Users could potentially benefit from greater connectivity between blockchain networks, while businesses and developers could gain additional options for building payment products around a dollar-denominated digital asset.

Payments and treasury applications gain flexibility

Sui has positioned CCTP V2 as an important development for payment and treasury products. Businesses operating across multiple blockchain networks can face challenges when moving stablecoins between ecosystems, particularly when liquidity is fragmented or applications depend on separate bridging infrastructure.

A standardized transfer mechanism could simplify the development of applications that handle USDC across different networks. Potential use cases include payment systems, treasury management platforms, and decentralized finance products requiring access to liquidity outside Sui.

Samsung Wallet adds another dimension by potentially bringing these stablecoin capabilities closer to consumers. The combination illustrates how blockchain infrastructure can serve both institutional applications and retail payment channels.

Market impact will depend on adoption

There was no specific USDC price movement or trading-volume increase directly attributed to the CCTP V2 launch in the information available. As a stablecoin designed to maintain a value close to the U.S. dollar, USDC is generally less sensitive to speculative price movements than other crypto assets.

How it works:

– Your app burns USDC on the source chain
– The CCTP API attests the burn
– Native USDC is minted on Sui

@circle holds mint authority, so the supply on Sui comes directly from the issuer.

The more important indicators could be transaction activity, liquidity, and adoption across applications using USDC on Sui. Developers may use the expanded connectivity to create products that can access liquidity from multiple networks, while Samsung Wallet could introduce additional consumer activity.

Market participants may also monitor decentralized finance activity, liquidity conditions and, where relevant, changes in derivatives open interest and funding rates as the ecosystem develops.

And with that, Sui Basecamp 2026 comes to a close.

Sui strengthens its payments ecosystem

The two developments reflect Sui’s broader effort to expand beyond a standalone blockchain environment and become part of a more interconnected financial infrastructure.

CCTP V2 provides connectivity between Sui and other blockchain networks, while Samsung Wallet introduces a consumer-facing channel for USDC. Together, they could broaden the range of applications using Sui-based stablecoin infrastructure.

By combining cross-chain USDC transfers with Samsung Wallet integration, Sui is expanding its potential role across blockchain-based finance, mobile payments, and broader digital-dollar applications.

The success of these initiatives will depend on adoption by developers, businesses and consumers, as well as liquidity and regulatory conditions. However, the developments represent a significant expansion of Sui‘s USDC ecosystem and could strengthen the network’s position in the growing market for interoperable stablecoin payments.
