Real-world asset platform tx has launched USTX, a U.S. dollar-denominated stablecoin designed to support payments, trading, and liquidity across its blockchain network and planned marketplace for tokenized stocks.
USTX is fully backed 1:1 by U.S. dollar assets and is issued through Brale, which manages its reserves, minting, and redemption. The launch aims to establish a common dollar-denominated settlement asset for users trading tokenized assets, posting collateral and participating in eligible wallet reward programs.
The token is minted using USD Coin (USDC) and can be redeemed back into USDC. Tx said the arrangement provides users with a unified dollar balance while relying on external infrastructure for issuance and reserve management.
The platform accepts deposits from eight blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana and Base, allowing users to transfer assets from multiple networks into its ecosystem.
Brale manages issuance and reserves
Tx co-founder and Chief Legal Officer Ashley Ebersole explained that USTX was not intended to function as a wrapped or synthetic version of USDC. Instead, USDC serves as the funding mechanism for minting USTX, while the new stablecoin maintains a separate reserve structure managed by Brale.
Under the arrangement, Brale issues the token and oversees the processes required to mint and redeem it. According to tx, each USTX token is backed by assets worth $1, including cash, bank deposits, government money market funds, and short-term U.S. Treasury bills.
The structure separates the stablecoin’s issuance and reserve administration from tx’s core platform operations. This allows tx to introduce a native dollar-denominated asset without independently managing all the infrastructure associated with stablecoin issuance and redemption.
Users will need USDC to mint USTX and can convert the token back into USDC through the redemption process. The model is intended to make dollar-denominated liquidity available for transactions within the tx ecosystem.
Stablecoin to support tokenized asset markets
Tx plans to use USTX as a common settlement asset for its tokenized asset marketplace, where blockchain-based representations of traditional financial assets can be traded.
A native stablecoin could simplify transactions by allowing users to maintain a consistent dollar balance for purchases, trade settlements and collateral requirements rather than repeatedly converting between different assets.
The token is also intended to support eligible rewards through tx wallet programs, potentially expanding its utility beyond payments and settlement.
However, the usefulness of USTX will depend on adoption across the platform, the availability of its supported services and the development of tx’s planned marketplace. The announcement did not provide detailed information about the marketplace’s launch date or the stablecoin’s expected circulation.
GENIUS Act shapes rewards program
Tx has designed its USTX rewards program with the aim of complying with the GENIUS Act, the U.S. legislation establishing a federal regulatory framework for payment stablecoins.
The legislation restricts payment stablecoin issuers from paying interest or yield to holders solely for holding, using or retaining their stablecoins. Tx said its rewards structure was developed with legal advice to remain within the applicable requirements.
The distinction is important as digital asset platforms explore ways to encourage stablecoin adoption without treating payment tokens as interest-bearing instruments. The precise structure and eligibility conditions of tx’s rewards program will determine how users can participate.
Brale expands stablecoin infrastructure partnerships
USTX’s launch also highlights the role of specialized providers in the stablecoin market. Blockchain platforms increasingly rely on third parties to handle token issuance, reserve administration, and redemption while integrating branded digital dollars into their own products.
Brale has been expanding its infrastructure partnerships. In June, the fintech company announced work with Visa on improving the speed and programmability of blockchain-based stablecoin settlement for use cases requiring privacy, compliance, and operational control.
For tx, USTX is intended to connect dollar liquidity with tokenized asset trading through a single network-native settlement token, while Brale provides the underlying issuance and reserve infrastructure. Its longer-term significance will depend on the platform’s ability to attract users, support reliable redemptions, and establish demand for tokenized financial assets.
