Securitize has expanded its blockchain infrastructure by adding Stellar support, giving institutions another network for issuing and managing tokenized equity and debt. The move reflects growing interest among financial firms in using blockchain technology to represent traditional assets and facilitate their transfer.
The announcement was made at Meridian 2026, the annual conference of the Stellar Development Foundation, in Lisbon, Portugal. Stellar joins Ethereum, Solana and Avalanche among the blockchain networks supported by Securitize.
The integration expands Securitize’s infrastructure for regulated digital securities, potentially giving financial institutions more options for issuing and transferring tokenized assets across blockchain networks.
The development comes as asset managers and financial service providers explore ways to bring conventional investment products on-chain, including money market funds, shares and debt instruments.
Securitize Expands Its Multichain Infrastructure
Securitize specializes in converting real-world assets into digital tokens that can be issued, managed, and transferred using blockchain technology. Its services cover tokenized securities, including equity and debt, helping financial institutions connect traditional investment products with digital asset infrastructure.
The company is also known for issuing and managing BlackRock’s BUIDL tokenized fund, which provides eligible investors with blockchain-based access to a money market investment strategy. Its work with established financial institutions has placed it among the companies developing infrastructure for institutional tokenization.
Adding Stellar broadens the range of networks available to Securitize’s clients. Institutions can assess different blockchains according to their operational requirements, transaction costs, scalability, and compliance needs.
The expansion does not mean that every asset managed through Securitize will automatically become available on Stellar. Specific issuances will depend on the relevant product arrangements, technical implementation and applicable regulatory requirements.
Stellar Targets Regulated Financial Applications
Stellar is designed to support the issuance and transfer of digital assets, including assets linked to traditional financial instruments. Its infrastructure offers features that can help issuers address requirements such as customer identification, transaction controls, and sanctions compliance.
These capabilities are important for institutions operating in regulated markets, where tokenized securities must meet legal and operational standards beyond those associated with transferring ordinary cryptocurrencies.
Stellar has already attracted financial companies exploring blockchain-based investment and payment services. Franklin Templeton operates a tokenized money market fund on the network, while MoneyGram uses Stellar for money transfer activity.
Such applications illustrate how blockchain networks can support different parts of financial services, from investment products to cross-border payments. However, the benefits of a network depend on the specific application, the number of participating institutions, and the availability of sufficient liquidity.
Securitize’s addition of Stellar creates another potential route for institutions seeking to bring traditional financial assets onto blockchain infrastructure with features designed for regulated markets.
Institutional Interest in Tokenization Continues to Grow
Tokenization involves representing ownership or economic interests in assets through digital tokens recorded on a blockchain. The approach is attracting attention from financial institutions seeking to modernize asset issuance, recordkeeping, and transfer processes.
Tokenized financial products may support transactions outside conventional market hours and enable investors in different locations to access eligible assets, subject to regulatory restrictions and the terms of each offering. Blockchain-based records may also improve the efficiency of certain administrative processes.
However, tokenization does not automatically remove legal, geographic, or investor eligibility restrictions. Financial institutions must still address custody, compliance, investor protections, and the legal enforceability of tokenized ownership.

Securitize has identified institutional demand as a key factor behind its network expansion. Stellar, meanwhile, has developed an ecosystem for tokenized real-world assets and is seeking to attract more issuers and financial intermediaries.
According to the announcement, Stellar has become the fourth-largest ecosystem for tokenized real-world assets, underscoring its growing presence in the sector. The ranking reflects the network’s position in an increasingly competitive market for blockchain-based financial products.
Competition for Tokenized Assets Intensifies
The addition of Stellar strengthens Securitize’s multichain approach as asset managers consider different networks for their digital securities initiatives. Supporting several blockchains can provide flexibility for issuers whose technical and regulatory requirements vary across products.
The broader success of these efforts will depend on whether financial institutions launch additional products, investors adopt them, and the underlying networks demonstrate reliable performance at scale.
As institutional tokenization expands, Securitize’s integration with Stellar positions both companies to pursue further adoption of blockchain-based securities and regulated digital asset transfers.
