BitGo and Robinhood Expand USDC Support on Arc

BitGo Holdings is bringing its wallet and custody infrastructure to Arc, a new Layer-1 blockchain designed around stablecoin-based financial applications, while Robinhood is preparing to support USDC transactions on the network. The developments give institutional and retail users additional routes to move USDC on a blockchain built specifically for payments, treasury management, and other financial workflows.

BitGo said its Arc integration is operational, allowing eligible clients to deposit and withdraw USDC through Self-Custody MPC wallets in hot and cold configurations, Custody MPC wallets, and Go Account. EURC support is also available.

BitGo’s Arc integration provides eligible clients with USDC access across multiple self-custody and custody configurations, while Robinhood’s planned support will allow its users to deposit and withdraw USDC directly through the Arc network.

Arc Builds Around Stablecoins

Arc was launched by Arc Network Services, a Circle-backed initiative, as an EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain focused on stablecoin-based financial activity. The network uses USDC as its native gas asset and is designed to provide dollar-denominated transaction fees and sub-second finality.

The architecture targets use cases including stablecoin payments, corporate treasury management, tokenized assets, and other programmable financial operations. Using USDC for gas is intended to simplify transaction-cost management for organizations that primarily operate in dollar-denominated assets.

BitGo’s infrastructure includes indexing for native USDC movements and transfers on Arc. The company has also enabled auto-consolidation and bulk withdrawals, providing tools for clients managing assets across multiple addresses.

BitGo Adds Automated Gas Management

BitGo’s Gas Tank covers gas costs generated through auto-consolidation on Arc. The feature is designed to reduce operational requirements for clients by allowing automated consolidation without requiring them to maintain a separate balance specifically for network fees.

The combination of Arc’s USDC-based gas model and BitGo’s Gas Tank is designed to simplify treasury operations by making transaction costs more predictable and reducing the need to manage a separate native gas asset.

BitGo’s support covers both institutional custody and self-custody arrangements. Clients can therefore access Arc through established BitGo infrastructure while retaining different levels of control over their digital assets.

Arc is operated through a permissioned validator set. The network has not been reviewed or approved by the New York State Department of Financial Services or another regulatory authority, according to the announcement.

Robinhood Prepares USDC Support

Robinhood is also preparing to add USDC transactions on Arc. According to the announcement cited in the report, the trading platform will allow users to deposit and withdraw USDC through the Arc network.

The planned integration would connect Robinhood’s customer base with Arc’s stablecoin-focused infrastructure and provide another channel for USDC transfers. Direct deposits and withdrawals could also reduce the number of intermediary steps required when users move USDC between compatible services.

The development is significant because Robinhood’s support would extend Arc beyond specialized blockchain infrastructure and into a consumer-facing financial platform. It also gives USDC another potential route for circulation between trading accounts and onchain applications.

The timing comes as stablecoins increasingly serve functions beyond crypto trading, including payments, settlement, and treasury operations. Arc’s design is aimed at these use cases, while Robinhood’s integration could provide a bridge between conventional trading interfaces and stablecoin-based blockchain activity.

A Broader Institutional Strategy

BitGo provides custody, wallet, staking, trading, financing, stablecoin, and settlement services. It also operates BitGo Bank & Trust, a federally chartered digital asset trust bank.

The company’s Arc integration extends its infrastructure to another blockchain while maintaining support for self-custody and institutional custody models. The inclusion of indexing, automated consolidation, and bulk withdrawals is intended to address operational requirements faced by organizations managing larger digital-asset balances.

Together, BitGo’s operational support and Robinhood’s planned USDC connectivity could broaden access to Arc by combining institutional custody infrastructure with a consumer-oriented platform for USDC transfers.

Stablecoin Infrastructure Expands

The developments around Arc reflect a broader push to build blockchain infrastructure specifically for stablecoin activity. Rather than treating stablecoins solely as trading assets, Arc is designed to use USDC throughout its transaction and settlement architecture.

For BitGo clients, the launch provides access to Arc through existing wallet and custody infrastructure. For Robinhood users, the planned USDC integration could offer another route for moving dollar-denominated digital assets between the platform and Arc.

The effectiveness of these integrations will depend on adoption, transaction volumes, liquidity, and the development of applications using Arc. Regulatory considerations will also remain relevant as stablecoin-based financial infrastructure expands.

The combined rollout nevertheless gives Arc two important access points at an early stage: BitGo’s institutional wallet and custody infrastructure and Robinhood’s planned consumer-facing USDC connectivity.
