Chainlink has deployed its oracle infrastructure on the Stellar blockchain, bringing Data Feeds and Data Streams to a network supporting more than $4 billion in real-world assets (RWAs). The integration aims to help developers build decentralized finance (DeFi) applications using reliable market data for lending, stablecoins, tokenized equities, and other blockchain-based financial products.
The integration gives Stellar developers access to Chainlink’s market data infrastructure, enabling them to build financial applications that connect tokenized real-world assets with decentralized markets.
The deployment follows Stellar’s participation in the Chainlink Scale program, through which the Stellar ecosystem is committing resources to provide developers with cost-efficient access to institutional-grade oracle services. These services supply external data to blockchain applications, allowing smart contracts to respond to market prices and other information that cannot be independently obtained from the blockchain itself.
Stellar already hosts a growing range of tokenized assets, but expanding their practical use requires infrastructure that supports pricing, trading, lending, and collateral management. The Chainlink integration is intended to address that requirement by helping developers build applications that use on-chain assets in more complex financial transactions.
Oracle services support new financial applications
Chainlink Data Feeds provide decentralized market data that smart contracts can use to determine asset prices and execute financial operations. Data Streams are designed to deliver market information with low latency, supporting applications that require more frequent updates.
Together, the services can support the development of lending markets, prediction markets, perpetual futures, and other DeFi products on Stellar. Reliable price information is particularly important for applications that calculate collateral values, determine loan-to-value ratios or initiate liquidations when positions no longer meet required thresholds.
Stablecoin applications can also use reference data to support pricing and related financial functions. Tokenized equities and other digital representations of traditional assets may benefit from the same infrastructure when used in trading and collateral-based applications.
Stellar is designed for payments and financial services, with smart contract capabilities, relatively low transaction fees, and an emphasis on scalability. Integrating oracle services expands the infrastructure available to developers seeking to combine these features with more sophisticated financial applications.
Chainlink Scale program expands developer access
The deployment fulfills the stated objective of the Chainlink Scale program by extending access to oracle infrastructure across the Stellar ecosystem. The program is intended to reduce the cost of using Chainlink services for participating blockchain networks, helping developers build applications without bearing the full infrastructure costs independently.
According to the project announcement, ecosystem applications are adopting Chainlink data services at launch to support functions such as collateral processing, loan-to-value calculations, automated liquidations, and stablecoin reference rates.
The integration is designed to make Stellar’s tokenized assets more useful by allowing them to participate in lending, trading and collateral-based financial markets rather than remaining limited to issuance and ownership records.

For developers, access to established oracle infrastructure can reduce the complexity of building data-dependent smart contracts. For users, the resulting applications could create additional ways to trade digital assets, borrow against holdings and deploy capital across blockchain-based financial services.
However, broader adoption will depend on the availability of applications, market liquidity, data reliability and demand for the financial products built on the network.
Stellar and Chainlink target institutional adoption
Chainlink Labs Chief Business Officer Johann Eid said the integration could support a new generation of DeFi and tokenized asset applications on Stellar. He indicated that native access to Data Feeds and Data Streams would give developers the market data needed to build lending markets, stablecoin services and tokenized financial products for wider adoption.
Raja Chakravorti, chief business officer at the Stellar Development Foundation, emphasized that tokenization alone was insufficient to establish financial markets at institutional scale. He explained that such markets also require reliable infrastructure for asset pricing, transaction execution, and the movement of value, with oracle services helping provide the necessary data and connectivity.
The partnership reflects a broader shift in blockchain development toward making tokenized assets usable across financial applications. Issuing an asset on a blockchain establishes its digital representation, but connecting it to pricing systems, lending protocols, and trading venues can expand its economic utility.
Chainlink has also been developing cross-chain infrastructure. Its recently announced CCIP Vault Adapters are designed to let decentralized finance vaults accept deposits from more than 80 supported blockchains through a simplified process. That initiative addresses interoperability, while the Stellar deployment focuses on market data and oracle access.
