Hedera Enables AI Agents to Create Blockchain Transactions

Hedera

Hedera has introduced a feature that allows artificial intelligence agents to prepare blockchain transactions for users to review and sign, creating a model in which automated software can handle transaction preparation while users retain final control over their assets.

The development marks a step toward combining AI-driven applications with blockchain infrastructure. Rather than allowing an AI agent to independently execute transactions, the feature separates transaction creation from authorization. This approach gives users an opportunity to inspect a proposed transaction before approving it through their own signing process.

AI Takes on Transaction Preparation

The new capability is designed to allow AI agents to interact more effectively with Hedera-based applications. An agent can generate the details required for a blockchain transaction, while the user remains responsible for signing and authorizing the final action.

Hedera’s new feature allows AI agents to construct transactions without taking final control of user funds, enabling people to use automated blockchain services while retaining authority over transaction approval.

The distinction between preparation and authorization could become increasingly important as AI agents take on more tasks involving digital assets. Autonomous software can potentially manage complex workflows, identify actions that need to be performed, and prepare the corresponding blockchain transactions. Human approval can then serve as the final authorization layer.

This structure may also reduce the need for users to manually assemble transaction details. Developers could build applications in which AI handles parts of the interaction while users maintain control over the signing process.

Hedera Expands Its AI and Blockchain Strategy

Hedera is a public distributed ledger technology network designed to support high-speed transactions and efficient digital applications. Its governance structure includes a council of major organizations, providing a framework for managing the network and supporting its long-term development.

The integration of AI-based transaction creation adds another dimension to the network’s application ecosystem. As developers experiment with AI agents capable of performing increasingly complex tasks, blockchain networks may become settlement layers for automated activity involving payments, data and digital assets.

The feature could be particularly relevant for applications where an AI agent needs to initiate an action on behalf of a user but should not possess unrestricted authority to execute transactions. Under the new model, the agent can prepare the transaction while the user makes the final decision.

User Control Remains Central

Maintaining user authorization is a key element of the feature. AI systems can process information and generate transaction instructions rapidly, but an automated agent does not receive unrestricted permission to move assets merely because it can construct a transaction.

This distinction could provide developers with a way to integrate AI into blockchain applications without completely removing users from critical financial decisions. It may also help create clearer boundaries between automated software and asset ownership.

Your AI agent can now create Hedera transactions. Your wallet signs them. You stay in control.

For developers, the model provides a framework for building AI-powered blockchain applications in which automation handles transaction construction while users retain control over signing and execution.

The development comes as the broader crypto and technology sectors explore ways to connect AI agents with decentralized networks. Potential applications include automated financial services, software agents making payments, decentralized marketplaces, and other systems in which machines need to interact with blockchain infrastructure.

Adoption Will Determine Broader Impact

The practical significance of Hedera’s initiative will depend on how developers and users apply the feature. Greater adoption could result in more AI-driven transactions and increased activity across the network, while competing blockchain platforms are also developing tools aimed at connecting artificial intelligence with decentralized applications.

Market participants are therefore likely to monitor transaction activity, developer adoption, and the number of applications incorporating AI-based workflows.

The feature represents a move toward a hybrid model in which AI can perform more of the technical work involved in blockchain transactions without necessarily receiving complete control over user assets. As automated software becomes more capable, separating transaction preparation from final authorization could become an important design principle for blockchain applications.
