Intellistake Technologies Corp. and Orbit AI have disclosed a strategic collaboration intended to build the Orbital Cloud, a space-based framework designed to merge AI computation, satellite connectivity, and blockchain-driven verification. According to the companies, this architecture is envisioned to handle, validate, and transmit data directly in space, thereby reducing reliance on terrestrial data centers while enhancing resilience, security, and operational speed.
The initiative is anchored in the idea that shifting computation and verification off Earth could alleviate bottlenecks associated with centralized infrastructure. As part of this undertaking, Intellistake is set to provide validator and node infrastructure that will function as the blockchain verification layer inside Orbit AI’s Coordination Layer. This component is structured to allow satellites to authenticate data and record verified transactions with autonomy, minimizing the need for ground-based support.
Integrating AI, Connectivity, and Blockchain in Space
Intellistake, headquartered in Vancouver, is positioned as a developer of decentralized AI and blockchain infrastructure. Orbit AI, based in Singapore, focuses on aerospace innovation and is currently developing the Orbital Cloud as a next-generation space-based system that integrates communication, computation, and verification.
The Orbital Cloud architecture combines three core elements: DeStarAI for in-orbit AI computation, DeStarlink for satellite connectivity, and Intellistake solutions for blockchain validation. Together, they form a network that can process and verify data above the Earth’s surface. The intent is to eliminate dependence on terrestrial cloud infrastructure and enable an independent layer of space-driven digital operations.
Intellistake’s validator and node infrastructure are positioned to serve as the backbone of trust within the Orbital Cloud, enabling transparent and verifiable operations. The companies have suggested that these capabilities will help satellites coordinate AI workloads, authenticate datasets, and record transactions without the need for centralized oversight.
Enabling Secure and Autonomous Satellite Networks
With AI workloads expanding in both volume and complexity, the companies indicated that there is a growing requirement for secure and autonomous systems beyond Earth. The Orbital Cloud aims to address this need by building a global mesh of satellites capable of AI computation, blockchain verification, and distributed communication.
The architecture is designed to support a wide variety of emerging applications. By processing data directly in orbit, satellites could operate AI models that assist with Earth observation, environmental monitoring, and space situational awareness. This approach is expected to reduce latency, limit bandwidth consumption, and improve real-time analytical capabilities.
Beyond data processing, the system is structured to facilitate autonomous coordination among satellite constellations. This includes validating information, routing communications, and balancing network resources without requiring ground infrastructure. According to the companies, this level of autonomy could strengthen operational reliability in conditions where Earth-based connectivity is limited or disrupted.
Applications Across Telecom, Analytics, and Defense
The Orbital Cloud is positioned to support demanding AI workloads across telecommunications, analytics, and scientific research. The companies have suggested that deep-space missions may eventually benefit from onboard AI execution that allows spacecraft to function with minimal Earth contact.
Defense stakeholders, they added, could gain access to enhanced threat detection systems, secure distributed communication networks, and resilient intelligence-surveillance-reconnaissance data processing.
Roadmap to Deployment
Orbit AI’s first satellite, Genesis-1, which incorporates an onboard Ethereum wallet and blockchain-node capabilities, is targeted for launch in December 2025. The firm expects to expand this effort in 2026 with a small cluster of satellites equipped with integrated AI and blockchain functions. A full constellation rollout is projected for the 2028–2030 window, marking the transition toward a fully operational space-based AI and verification network.
