KuCoin Web3 Wallet Adds Intent Swaps and Limit Orders

Upgrade expands self-custodial trading and execution options

KuCoin Web3 Wallet has upgraded its wallet-native trading infrastructure, introducing intent-based swaps and limit orders through a unified self-custodial interface. The update is designed to give users more flexibility when trading supported cryptocurrencies and tokenized real-world assets without requiring them to leave the wallet environment.

The upgrade integrates execution infrastructure from UniswapX, PancakeSwapX and 1inch, bringing different trading mechanisms into a single interface. The move reflects the broader evolution of Web3 wallets from basic asset-storage tools into platforms that combine market discovery, trading, decentralized applications and portfolio management.

By integrating intent-based swaps and limit orders directly into its self-custodial wallet, KuCoin Web3 Wallet is seeking to simplify onchain trading while giving users more control over how their orders are executed.

KuCoin Web3 Wallet is a multichain, self-custodial platform focused on onchain trading, market discovery and asset management. Its existing features include cross-chain swaps, wallet-native perpetual trading, supported tokenized real-world assets, Smart Money insights and access to decentralized applications.

The wallet provides access to more than 1,000 DApps and includes an airdrop hub covering trending and newly listed tokens. By combining liquidity, execution, and market-discovery functions, the platform is designed to allow users to move from identifying market opportunities to executing transactions while maintaining control of their assets and private keys.

Intent-based swaps target better execution

The latest upgrade places greater emphasis on the order-execution process. As per reports, Web3 wallets are increasingly becoming access points for users to discover and interact with onchain markets, making efficient order routing an increasingly important part of the trading experience.

Through UniswapX and PancakeSwapX, eligible swaps can use intent-based execution. Under this model, users specify the desired result of a transaction rather than directly managing every element of the execution process. Third-party fillers or solvers then compete to complete the requested transaction.

Depending on the asset, blockchain network, and available liquidity route, this structure may provide access to broader liquidity and competitive pricing. It can also support gas-abstracted execution and offer protection against certain forms of adverse maximal extractable value, including front-running and sandwich attacks.

The availability of these features, however, remains dependent on supported assets, networks, liquidity and routing conditions. Users may therefore see different execution options depending on the transaction they are attempting to complete.

1inch powers new limit-order functionality

The wallet has also introduced limit-order functionality through 1inch. The feature allows users to establish a target price and an expiration period rather than requiring them to continuously monitor market movements.

Limit orders are cryptographically signed and remain off-chain until the specified conditions are met and an order is filled. This mechanism gives users another approach to managing trades, particularly when they want to wait for a particular price instead of executing immediately at prevailing market rates.

Market swaps and limit orders are now available through the same wallet interface, allowing users to move between immediate execution and target-price strategies without switching between separate trading applications.

The upgrade also extends more flexible execution capabilities to eligible tokenized assets linked to stocks, exchange-traded funds and other supported real-world assets. This could broaden access to onchain markets that connect cryptocurrency infrastructure with traditional financial assets.

Access to these tokenized assets remains subject to issuer requirements, user eligibility, supported networks, market availability and liquidity conditions.

Wallet aims to bridge crypto and traditional markets

The combination of multichain functionality, expanded liquidity access and different order types represents a broader effort to make onchain trading more accessible from a single interface.

For users, the integration could reduce the need to move between multiple decentralized applications when searching for liquidity, placing trades or managing target-price orders. For the wider Web3 ecosystem, the development highlights the growing importance of execution infrastructure as wallets evolve into comprehensive gateways to onchain markets.

KuCoin Web3 Wallet is positioning the upgrade as part of its broader strategy to connect crypto-native markets with tokenized traditional assets while preserving the self-custodial model in which users retain control of their assets and private keys.

The effectiveness of the new trading capabilities will depend on factors such as network conditions, available liquidity, supported assets, and the execution routes offered by integrated protocols. Nonetheless, the upgrade adds another layer of trading functionality to the wallet and strengthens its role as an integrated platform for accessing both decentralized and traditional-finance-linked markets onchain.
