Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) Hub Lisbon, the local community hub for ICP developers and contributors in Portugal, has announced its forthcoming community event – the Ideathon.
Following the resounding success of their highly attended and widely publicized March Hackathon, the hub is organizing a combined online boot camp and idea-pitching competition, culminating in an in-person awards celebration in May.
Aspiring developers, programmers, coders, and entrepreneurs from Portugal, Spain, or France are all encouraged to apply and participate in the program. It’s worth noting that, unlike a hackathon, the Ideathon does not necessitate coding skills, though possessing them is advantageous.
According to the guidelines, while coding expertise isn’t obligatory for Ideathon success, individuals or teams showcasing ICP coding skills and certificates stand to qualify for additional prizes and enhance their chances of winning. Participants aspiring to obtain ICP Devs certificates will receive necessary guidance during the event.
The ICP Hub Ideathon is slated for May 3rd, to be conducted online, featuring workshops and networking opportunities. A structured agenda will assist participants in conceptualizing, designing, pitching, and submitting their best ideas. May 8th marks the submission deadline, requiring online Ideathon attendees to create 2-3 minute pitch videos.
A panel of judges will deliberate for two days, evaluating video submissions and selecting up to 10 winners based on criteria such as creativity, impact, viability, and presentation. They will seek cutting-edge innovation, potential for mass adoption, and requisite skills for implementation. Submissions will also be assessed for realism, with various cash prizes and acceleration packages available to help bring ideas to fruition.
In May, the ICP Hub office in Lisbon will host a physical awards ceremony, where $5,000 USDT and support services will be disbursed. Five winners will receive $200 USDT and an acceleration package, while another five will be awarded $100 USDT alongside their acceleration package.
