Bitget, recognized as the world’s largest Universal Exchange, has announced an annual partnership with the Google Developer Group on Campus at ETH Zurich. The collaboration forms part of Bitget’s Blockchain4Youth educational initiative and is designed to support and co-organize multiple student-focused events over the coming year. These activities are expected to include hackathons, workshops, and other interactive learning formats aimed at enhancing students’ exposure to blockchain and Web3 technologies.
Google Developer Group on Campus operates as a global network of university-based communities that encourage students to explore technology through peer learning and hands-on experiences. With more than 1,260 clubs worldwide, the initiative has built a strong presence across leading academic institutions. The Zurich chapter, established in 2020, functions as a student-led technology community serving ETH Zurich, a university widely regarded as one of the world’s top institutions in science, engineering, and technology. The group regularly hosts technical talks, workshops, study jams, hack nights, and networking events that bring together developers, designers, and researchers.
Focus on Web3 Knowledge and Practical Experience
Under the partnership, Bitget and GDGoC ETH Zurich plan to jointly organize several educational programs throughout the year. These initiatives are intended to help students deepen their understanding of emerging technologies while gaining practical exposure to real-world applications. During the events, Bitget is expected to contribute insights into the Web3 market through panel discussions, hands-on sessions, and applied learning activities. Students will also be given the opportunity to explore Bitget’s Graduate Program, which is designed to provide direct industry experience and a clearer view of career pathways within the blockchain and digital asset sector.
Bitget’s leadership has indicated that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to innovation and education. The company views long-term engagement with student developer communities as an effective way to support future builders and professionals entering the Web3 ecosystem. According to Bitget, education plays a critical role in helping newcomers navigate a fast-moving and highly innovative market, and partnerships with academic communities allow knowledge sharing to translate into tangible skill development.
Bridging Academia and Industry
From the perspective of GDGoC ETH Zurich, the partnership is positioned as more than a sponsorship arrangement. The student leadership has emphasized that working with an industry participant like Bitget enables members to move beyond theoretical concepts and gain exposure to practical skills. Through the collaboration, students are expected to learn more about areas such as algorithmic trading, blockchain infrastructure, and applied development practices, helping to close the gap between academic study and industry requirements.
Building on a Track Record of Events
The partnership builds on an existing relationship between Bitget and the wider GDG community that began earlier this year. Previous collaborations included sponsorship and participation in several major events across Europe. These ranged from an AI-focused hackathon at Constructor University in May 2025 that attracted over a hundred participants, to an AI acceleration hackathon hosted at KU Leuven in Belgium later in the year. More recently, Bitget supported Devfest, which was held at Google’s offices in Brussels toward the end of November.
Looking Ahead to Future Initiatives
As the partnership continues, additional events are being considered, including joint hackathons with other developer communities and specialized meetups. These gatherings are expected to feature knowledge-sharing sessions led by industry experts as well as interactive workshops involving key market participants. Through sustained engagement with student developers and researchers, Bitget aims to contribute to the growth of the Web3 ecosystem and promote broader awareness of the practical opportunities created by blockchain technology.
