BNB Plus Corp. is changing its business strategy, moving away from a digital asset treasury model centered exclusively on the BNB Chain ecosystem and toward an operating company focused on infrastructure for blockchain, agentic artificial intelligence, and other open network technologies.
The company, formerly known as Applied DNA Sciences, said its new direction will target the infrastructure required by financial institutions and enterprises to deploy, operate, and use emerging technologies at commercial scale. The transition is intended to position BNB Plus as an infrastructure provider rather than primarily as a holder of digital assets.
BNB Plus plans to build an institutional deployment layer designed to help financial institutions and enterprises adopt blockchain, agentic AI and other open network technologies with stronger security, resilience, compliance and operational controls.
From Digital Asset Treasury to Infrastructure
BNB Plus said the strategic shift reflects its view that value creation in blockchain and emerging AI systems is likely to increasingly depend on the infrastructure supporting these technologies rather than simply owning digital assets.
The company expects blockchain networks to mature while agentic AI generates new forms of automated financial and commercial activity. Such developments could increase demand for infrastructure capable of supporting machine-driven transactions, decentralized networks and enterprise applications.
Under its revised strategy, BNB Plus intends to assemble infrastructure, software and services that allow institutions to move from experimentation with open network technologies toward production-scale deployment. The company said institutional adoption requires more than access to emerging technology, with security, risk management, regulatory compliance, resilience and accountability also becoming critical requirements.
BNB Plus expects to remain involved in the BNB Chain ecosystem and other blockchain networks. However, its emphasis will shift toward providing deployment capabilities, integration services and infrastructure that can help enterprises use these networks in practical business environments.
GlobalStake Relationship Under Review
To support the transition, BNB Plus is evaluating an expansion of its relationship with GlobalStake Infrastructure LLC, which has been involved in the company’s strategic review.
GlobalStake is a SOC 2 Type II-certified Web3 infrastructure company providing validator operations, yield generation and strategic advisory services. Its operations include sovereign bare-metal infrastructure across major blockchain networks, with institutional clients including protocol foundations, investors, custodians and exchanges.
BNB Plus Chairman Richard Shorten, who also founded GlobalStake, said the company views open-network technology as becoming increasingly important as artificial intelligence advances. He indicated that agentic AI could become a major user of decentralized and open infrastructure as automated systems take on more financial and commercial tasks.
Shorten also pointed to decentralization, data sovereignty and specialized infrastructure with enterprise-grade compliance and risk controls as important components of future open financial systems. The strategic objective is to convert emerging technologies into infrastructure capable of supporting real-world institutional activity.
The strategy aims to bridge the gap between experimental blockchain and AI applications and institutional deployment by combining open networks with enterprise-grade infrastructure and compliance capabilities.
LineaRx Remains a Strategic Asset
Alongside the technology transition, BNB Plus said it will evaluate options for strengthening the position of its LineaRx subsidiary in the genetic medicines market. The company intends to explore ways to realize value from the subsidiary for BNB Plus shareholders.
LineaRx operates an enzymatic DNA manufacturing platform that produces DNA used in the development and manufacturing of mRNA and other genetic medicines. BNB Plus said it expects demand for high-quality DNA manufacturing capabilities to grow alongside the broader genetic medicines industry.
BNB Plus CEO Clay Shorrock, who also serves as president of LineaRx, highlighted recent advances in personalized genetic medicine as evidence of the sector’s potential. He pointed to clinical progress involving personalized mRNA cancer treatment as an indication that individualized therapies could deliver meaningful medical benefits.
The company believes expanding genetic medicine applications will require reliable and scalable supplies of high-quality DNA. LineaRx’s manufacturing platform could therefore provide an opportunity for BNB Plus to participate in the anticipated expansion of the sector.
The broader restructuring gives BNB Plus two strategic priorities: developing infrastructure for blockchain and agentic AI while assessing ways to unlock value from its genetic medicine subsidiary. The company is positioning the technology business around the infrastructure needed to bring emerging open-network technologies into regulated, institutional and commercial environments.
By combining blockchain and agentic AI infrastructure ambitions with its existing genetic medicine capabilities, BNB Plus is seeking to shift from a passive digital asset strategy toward businesses built around technology deployment and specialized infrastructure.
