The strategic partnership centers on integrating blockchain technology for tracking soybeans and soy meal originated by Bunge in Brazil, destined for BKP and Charoen Pokphand Foods’ food and feed productions. This digital solution, tested since 2023, offers immutable and transparent data flows regarding the journey of grains from farm origination through processing and logistics, ultimately reaching production plants in the region. The companies expect blockchain-backed operations to ensure that every supply chain participant benefits from greater visibility and accountability, with the digital ledger recording all pertinent information securely and permanently.

Both suppliers have highlighted their commitment to advancing sustainable, deforestation-free supply chains within the region. The sourcing of agricultural products under this partnership will strictly adhere to met socio-environmental verification protocols, with supplier practices monitored and validated against standards such as the Round Table on Responsible Soy (RTRS). Bunge has previously established a track record as the first global exporter to achieve complete traceability and monitoring for all direct and indirect soy purchases from critical areas in the Brazilian Cerrado. The agribusiness leverages advanced satellite technologies to monitor farmland, covering about 46,000 farms and 36 million hectares across South America to mitigate deforestation risks.
