Cardano has strengthened its position in the rapidly expanding real-world asset (RWA) tokenization market, recording one of the fastest growth rates among major blockchain networks over the past month. Data released by the RWA Foundation, citing Token Terminal, indicated that Cardano ranked as the fifth fastest-growing blockchain based on the value of tokenized real-world assets during the previous 30 days.

The value of tokenized real-world assets on Cardano climbed 23.1% over the month, reaching $55.3 million, highlighting the network’s growing role in the digital asset tokenization sector. The rankings measured month-over-month increases in RWA value across leading blockchain ecosystems, providing insight into where tokenized assets are expanding most rapidly.

Cardano Records Strong Growth in Tokenized Assets

Although Cardano’s overall RWA market remains smaller than several competing blockchain ecosystems, it outperformed many larger networks in terms of monthly growth.

Avalanche posted a 22.6% increase while maintaining an RWA ecosystem valued at approximately $2.5 billion. Sonic followed with 22.1% growth, bringing its tokenized asset value to $124.2 million. Fraxtal expanded by 18.4% to reach $39 million, while BNB Chain, which hosts the largest RWA market among the ranked blockchains at $9.2 billion, registered a 16.5% monthly increase. TON rounded out the top ten after recording 6.4% growth, lifting its RWA value to $670.4 million.

Several newer blockchain networks achieved even stronger percentage gains during the same period. Robinhood Chain led the rankings after increasing its RWA value by 11,416.2% to $323.7 million. Tempo ranked second with 74.3% growth, followed by Monad with 36.7% and Plume Network with 35.7%.

The broader real-world asset sector has continued to attract industry attention as analysts anticipate that tokenization could evolve into a multi-trillion-dollar market over the coming years. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has projected that the global RWA market could expand to $10 trillion by 2030, driven by the tokenization of traditional financial instruments. He indicated that tokenized real-world assets were expected to contribute significantly to the cryptocurrency industry’s growth before the end of the decade.

Cardano Expands Institutional Tokenization Efforts

Cardano has continued expanding its tokenization infrastructure through institutional initiatives and strategic partnerships designed to bring traditional financial assets onto the blockchain.

The network recently participated in a project involving the London Stock Exchange, where Members Capital Management introduced its MCM Fund I. While the investment was recorded on the exchange’s private blockchain, Archax tokenized the fund using the Cardano blockchain.

Cardano has also broadened its real-world asset ecosystem through partnerships established earlier this year. Kinka collaborated with EMURGO to issue gold-backed tokens on the network. Separately, EMURGO partnered with compliant tokenization platforms, including Haus, OpenEden, and DigiFT, to facilitate the issuance of tokenized private credit, U.S. government bonds, and insurance factoring products on Cardano.

Aptos Emerges as a Leading Layer-1 Blockchain

Elsewhere, Aptos has established itself as one of the most active layer-1 blockchain networks this year. According to Token Terminal data, the blockchain has processed approximately 2.4 billion transactions since the beginning of the year, making it the fourth most active layer-1 network based on transaction volume.

Aptos was developed as a high-performance layer-1 blockchain using the Move programming language and was designed to deliver high throughput while maintaining low transaction costs. Layer-1 blockchains serve as independent foundational networks that validate and settle transactions directly without relying on another blockchain.

Internet Computer remained the most active layer-1 blockchain with 85.5 billion transactions year-to-date, followed by Solana with 55.9 billion and BNB Chain with 3.7 billion. Aptos ranked fourth with 2.4 billion transactions, narrowly surpassing both Tron and Chainflip, which each processed 2.3 billion transactions. It also remained ahead of Polygon, Stellar, Sui, and Avalanche.

With approximately 2.4 billion transactions processed this year, Aptos has secured a 1.5% share of the combined 161 billion layer-1 blockchain transactions, underscoring its growing adoption within the broader blockchain ecosystem.
