Inco Deploys Privacy Layer on Celo Sepolia Testnet

Blockchain integration aims to bring private balances to Celo wallets

Inco Network has deployed its full-stack blockchain privacy layer on the Celo Sepolia testnet, marking a step toward enabling private digital asset balances within Celo-supported wallets. The deployment is designed to give users greater control over the visibility of their asset information while preserving compatibility with existing wallet infrastructure.

The integration was announced by Celo, which said the Inco privacy layer is now available on its Sepolia test environment. The deployment allows developers to test privacy-focused applications and explore how confidential asset balances could operate within the Celo ecosystem before broader implementation.

The Inco deployment introduces a privacy layer intended to allow private asset balances inside Celo-supported wallets, expanding the network’s capabilities beyond publicly visible blockchain transactions.

Full-stack privacy architecture targets confidential assets

Public blockchains traditionally make transaction information and wallet balances visible on-chain, creating challenges for users and applications that require greater confidentiality. Inco’s technology is intended to address this issue by providing a privacy-focused infrastructure layer that can operate alongside blockchain applications.

By deploying on Celo Sepolia, developers can experiment with confidential asset functionality in a controlled testnet environment. The approach could support applications that need to protect financial information while continuing to use blockchain-based settlement and wallet infrastructure.

The deployment is particularly relevant to decentralized applications and financial services where users may want to interact with digital assets without exposing their complete holdings publicly. Confidential balances could also create additional possibilities for applications involving payments, financial management, trading, and other blockchain-based services.

The testnet environment allows developers to evaluate the technology, identify potential limitations and refine applications before any production rollout. It also provides an opportunity to assess how privacy functionality interacts with wallets and other components of the Celo ecosystem.

Celo ecosystem expands privacy capabilities

Celo has increasingly positioned its blockchain infrastructure around accessible financial applications and mobile-friendly experiences. Adding a privacy layer could provide developers with another tool for creating applications where transaction confidentiality is an important requirement.

The Inco deployment does not mean that all Celo transactions automatically become private. Instead, the testnet implementation provides infrastructure that developers can use to build and evaluate applications incorporating confidential asset functionality.

The ability to maintain private balances within supported wallets could be significant for users who are reluctant to use public blockchain systems because of the transparency of wallet holdings. It could also help businesses explore blockchain applications without necessarily exposing sensitive financial information to every network participant.

Deploying the privacy layer on Celo Sepolia gives developers a test environment for building and testing confidential asset applications before potential deployment on a production network.

Inco brings confidential functionality to Celo apps without moving users or assets to a separate chain

that means:
→ shielded asset management
→ confidential DeFi
→ sealed-bid auctions
→ confidential governance
→ confidential game mechanics

Testnet phase precedes broader adoption

The deployment remains at the testnet stage, meaning the technology is being evaluated rather than presented as a fully operational production service. Testnet deployments are commonly used to examine technical performance, compatibility, and application behavior under controlled conditions.

For Inco, integration with Celo provides an opportunity to demonstrate how its privacy infrastructure can work with an established blockchain ecosystem and its wallet environment. For Celo developers, the integration could broaden the range of applications that can be developed using the network.

As blockchain adoption expands beyond transparent financial transfers, privacy has become an increasingly important consideration for both individual users and enterprises. Confidentiality can be relevant when applications handle financial positions, payments, business transactions, or other information that users may not want publicly exposed.

The report indicates that the Celo Sepolia deployment represents an early step toward combining blockchain accessibility with stronger privacy controls. Further testing and development will determine how the technology performs and whether private asset functionality can eventually be expanded to production environments.

The integration could give Celo developers a foundation for applications that combine blockchain-based asset management with greater confidentiality, potentially widening the network’s use cases for privacy-sensitive financial activity.
