Lumera Protocol Debuts Mainnet with AI-Powered Services

AI-first Layer-1 built for storage, inference, and authenticity

Lumera Protocol

Lumera Protocol, the AI-first Layer-1 blockchain evolved from Pastel Network, has officially launched its mainnet. The release introduces a modular framework designed to provide verifiable services for decentralized storage, AI inference, and content authenticity. Built on the Cosmos SDK and powered by CometBFT consensus, Lumera is equipped with native Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC), enabling seamless integration with other Cosmos chains. This architecture is intended to allow developers to embed AI-powered tools into a wide variety of Web3 applications.

The mainnet launch has attracted strong validator support, with more than 35 leading operators such as Cosmostation, Allnodes, Chorus One, Ubik Capital, and Nansen participating from the outset. During the public testnet in the second quarter, over 200 additional validators signaled interest in joining. Alongside this, more than 50 SuperNodes have been deployed to handle real-time operations for Lumera’s core modules: Cascade, a permanent decentralized storage system; Sense, a solution for AI-driven authenticity and tamper detection in media; and Inference, which provides verifiable on-chain AI and access to large language models.

Wallet support has already been confirmed by Keplr and Cosmostation, while Lumera’s native token, LUME, is set to be listed on Osmosis to ensure liquidity within the Cosmos DeFi ecosystem. Additional wallet integrations with Leap, Nabox, and Metamask are also in progress.

A service chain built for AI and trust

Unlike general-purpose blockchains that rely heavily on smart contracts, Lumera has been developed as a specialized service chain. Its design allows developers to integrate modules through standard APIs, adding features such as permanent storage, authenticity verification, and AI inference to decentralized applications. Cascade offers a pay-once, store-forever model with self-healing storage, while Sense helps detect manipulated or AI-generated media, ensuring applications display trusted content. Inference supports decentralized access to AI models with proof-of-service backed by SuperNodes.

The protocol is engineered to provide performance, modularity, and cross-chain compatibility. By leveraging CometBFT and the Cosmos SDK, Lumera ensures that any IBC-enabled blockchain—whether in gaming, decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN), or oracle networks—can integrate its services to expand functionality for developers and end-users alike.

Growth roadmap and community expansion

The Lumera team has emphasized that the launch is more than just a network upgrade, presenting it instead as a step toward democratizing decentralized AI across blockchains. The project has reported rapid community growth, driven by engagement through quests and airdrops on social platforms.

Looking ahead, Lumera plans to introduce the Lumera Hub, a comprehensive platform for its community. This hub will serve as an entry point for services such as staking, DeFi integrations, and access to Cascade. The roadmap also includes the token generation event, additional exchange listings, and new ecosystem partnerships aimed at expanding adoption and strengthening Lumera’s role as core infrastructure for the Web3 economy.

Positioning in the Web3 landscape

With the launch of its mainnet, Lumera Protocol is presenting itself as a foundational blockchain for developers seeking AI-powered capabilities. By offering modular, verifiable services through an IBC-enabled architecture, the project positions itself at the intersection of artificial intelligence and decentralized infrastructure.

Industry observers suggest that Lumera’s approach could help address growing concerns around content authenticity and centralized AI dominance, while also enabling scalable solutions for storage and computation in Web3. As adoption grows, the combination of validator support, cross-chain compatibility, and a strong ecosystem roadmap may help Lumera establish itself as a critical player in the next phase of blockchain and AI integration.
