METABORA, an established global player in casual game development and blockchain-based project operations, has formed a strategic alliance with LINE NEXT Inc., a subsidiary of LINE focused on expanding the global Web3 ecosystem. This collaboration is set to enhance the distribution of METABORA’s Web3 games through the LINE Messenger–based Dapp Portal, marking a key step in extending the company’s presence within the rapidly evolving Web3 gaming sector.
Leveraging LINE’s Messenger Ecosystem
At the heart of this initiative lies LINE NEXT’s Dapp Portal, an integrated platform developed within the KAIA ecosystem. It allows users to access a wide array of decentralized applications (Mini Dapps) directly from the LINE Messenger app, eliminating the need for additional installations. Since its introduction in January, the platform has drawn significant traction, reportedly exceeding 100 million cumulative users. This built-in user base offers game developers a substantial opportunity for exposure without conventional barriers to entry.
Through the new partnership, METABORA is expected to contribute its expertise in game development and global publishing to the Dapp Portal. The company plans to deploy a curated lineup of Web3 games while collaborating with LINE NEXT to bolster accessibility and marketing efforts. This concerted approach is designed to accelerate growth in the Mini Dapp gaming ecosystem, leveraging both companies’ complementary strengths.
Expanding the Role of the BORA Token
As part of the broader integration plan, METABORA intends to increase the functionality of its native BORA token within the LINE Messenger-based Mini Dapp ecosystem. The strategy includes the development of a new payment infrastructure enabling users to purchase in-game items across forthcoming titles under the BORA brand.
Additionally, the company is preparing to roll out Gas Abstraction technology. This feature will allow users to carry out in-app transactions using BORA tokens without requiring KAIA tokens to cover gas fees—a usability enhancement expected to launch in the latter half of the year. The planned infrastructure is poised to extend the BORA token’s utility beyond its existing ecosystem, laying the groundwork for cross-platform Web3 adoption.
Future Enhancements and Stablecoin Support
Beyond current plans, both METABORA and LINE NEXT aim to deepen their collaboration by jointly exploring technological frameworks that support the integration of stablecoins, such as USDT. This future-oriented approach is intended to improve both the onboarding process and the in-game transaction environment for users, offering more familiar and stable payment methods within the decentralized ecosystem.
Leadership from both firms expressed optimism regarding the partnership. Executives noted that the collaboration represents a meaningful step toward bringing Web3 gaming into the mainstream. Both companies appear committed to evolving the Dapp Portal into a leading example of Web3 usability and engagement.
By aligning METABORA’s game development network with LINE NEXT’s messenger-driven ecosystem, the alliance reflects a larger industry trend—one where blockchain-based gaming seeks mainstream traction through enhanced accessibility, token utility, and infrastructure innovation.
