In a recent development, Oasis Foundation, a prominent blockchain platform, has introduced Sapphire, an innovative private blockchain that is fully compatible with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). The primary goal of this launch is to empower decentralized applications (DApps) with enhanced privacy features, offering a promising solution for their development.
According to undisclosed sources, Sapphire will integrate seamlessly with the Oasis Privacy Layer (OPL), enabling DApps already present on EVM networks to leverage the blockchain’s privacy-first capabilities. Notably, this integration is expected to eliminate the necessity for cross-chain swaps of respective tokens.
Jernej Kos, Director of Oasis Foundation, emphasized that Sapphire’s full EVM-compatibility would provide developers with the convenience of building private smart contracts within a familiar environment, such as using Solidity smart contracts on the EVM, akin to Ethereum.
Additionally, Kos mentioned that the implementation of this new functionality is poised to enhance the interoperability of DApps across various chains, ensuring compatibility and smooth operation.
