Open Loot, a company developing infrastructure for blockchain-based games, has introduced OL Chain, a custom-built Layer-3 network designed to enhance the speed, affordability, and transparency of in-game transactions. The launch marks a strategic effort to remove long-standing technical barriers that have slowed the adoption of Web3 gaming.

The company explained that OL Chain will record all in-game activity, including trades, purchases, and player interactions, directly on-chain. This approach is intended to improve visibility for both gamers and partner studios, ensuring that all asset movements are publicly verifiable.

Zero Gas Fees and Real-Time Settlement

Open Loot positioned OL Chain as a solution to two of the most common bottlenecks in blockchain gaming: slow transaction speeds and high gas fees. The network reportedly settles transactions in real time, with the initial rollout offering zero gas fees. The company suggested that this frictionless experience could significantly increase adoption among mainstream players who are unfamiliar with Web3 wallets or blockchain costs.

OL Chain has also inherited Ethereum’s underlying security model. At the same time, the network introduces optional gas sponsorships, enabling game studios to cover network fees on behalf of users. Open Loot believes this feature will boost player engagement, as it removes the need for new players to acquire crypto before participating in a game.

The OL Chain was created with one goal in mind: bring full transparency and next-level performance to the Open Loot Ecosystem.

Every trade, transaction, and interaction can now be verified on-chain, ensuring a fair and tamper-proof environment for players and partners.

Expanded Utility for the $OL Token

The introduction of the new chain increases the functional scope of Open Loot’s native token, OL. With the network linking transaction activity and platform usage to token demand, the company expects the ecosystem’s overall value to expand in parallel with developer and player adoption.

Open Loot stated that OL Chain has been engineered to make blockchain elements feel invisible to end users. The firm expressed the view that Web3 should offer the benefits of ownership and transparency without exposing players to technical complexity.

A public block explorer has already been launched for OL Chain, offering real-time visibility into wallet distributions, transaction statistics, and network performance. Early on-chain activity mainly reflects internal testing and preliminary onboarding, ahead of broader game studio integrations.

Broader Infrastructure Strategy for Web3 Games

The rollout of OL Chain signals Open Loot’s shift from operating a single marketplace to building a wider, multi-studio infrastructure layer for blockchain gaming. The company has made additional documentation available through its developer wiki, outlining technical specifications and upcoming milestones.

Through this new network, Open Loot aims to position itself as a foundational provider in the Web3 gaming space, offering tooling that supports scalable gameplay, seamless transactions, and asset ownership without the hurdles typically associated with blockchain interaction.
