Quantum eMotion Corp. (QeM) has announced groundbreaking advancements in its quantum-based hardware wallet, aiming to enhance security in blockchain and cryptocurrency transactions. Recent research indicates that this new solution minimizes the risk of financial losses by up to 98% when compared to conventional hierarchical deterministic (HD) wallets.
Initially introduced in July, the wallet incorporates Quantum eMotion’s proprietary Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG) technology alongside an intelligent key generation framework. This combination ensures optimal efficiency for commercial blockchain applications. By utilizing hardware components for generating both parent and child keys, the system significantly lowers costs and reduces complexity.
Enhanced Protection Against Cyber Threats
The wallet features an advanced resetting mechanism designed to counter brute-force attacks and privilege escalation. This is achieved by regenerating master private keys using newly generated quantum random numbers, ensuring enhanced security against unauthorized access attempts.
In collaboration with researchers from École de technologie supérieure (ETS) in Montreal and Bertrand Reulet from the University of Sherbrooke, the security and efficiency of QeM’s design have been thoroughly assessed. Findings from this evaluation have been published in Springer Nature under the title Qaas: Hybrid Cryptocurrency Wallet-as-a-Service Based on Quantum RNG.

The hybrid Quantum-as-a-Service (QaaS) wallet merges QRNG-powered key generation with deep learning algorithms to enhance security measures. These algorithms assist in selecting key schemes based on user behavior, maintaining a balance between security, operational efficiency, and memory usage. The QaaS wallet has been successfully implemented for Ethereum transactions, demonstrating superior security and functionality without increasing memory demands.
