ItalyX, the certification platform developed by Il Sole 24 Ore and promoted by Confindustria, has announced a major evolution of its ecosystem through the integration of blockchain technology and the launch of a new editorial initiative called ItalyX Stories. The latest developments are intended to strengthen the international visibility, authenticity, and commercial positioning of Italian companies operating across design, manufacturing, and distribution sectors.
Initially created to recognize and promote companies representing the excellence of Made in Italy products and services, ItalyX has grown into a broader ecosystem connecting certified businesses, certification bodies, international chambers of commerce, and territorial associations linked to the Confindustria network. The platform combines certification, networking opportunities, internationalization support, and visibility services within a single structure.
Since launching in late 2023, ItalyX has attracted more than 200 companies, including 180 already certified businesses representing a combined economic turnover exceeding €5 billion. Small and medium-sized enterprises have emerged as central participants in the initiative, alongside major corporations operating in industries such as manufacturing, food production, pharmaceuticals, textiles, furniture, and wholesale trade. In 2025, the certification program expanded to include design and distribution sectors in an effort to strengthen the broader Italian supply chain.
Blockchain Integration Strengthens Transparency
The most significant advancement for 2026 is the integration of blockchain technology into ItalyX certifications. Under the updated structure, each certification will become a verifiable digital asset recorded on blockchain infrastructure, transforming the ItalyX brand from a traditional visual seal into a traceable and authenticated digital identity.

The system is designed to improve transparency, traceability, and long-term accessibility of certification information while strengthening trust among international buyers, consumers, business partners, and stakeholders. Each certification will include a QR code embedded within the ItalyX brand, enabling users to instantly verify public and unchangeable certification details.
The blockchain-based approach is expected to provide several benefits, including secure storage of certification data, permanent traceability of records, and stronger guarantees regarding the authenticity and identity of participating companies. ItalyX also stated that the technology would support easier integration into digital business processes while improving the commercial and reputational value of certified enterprises in global markets.
Digital Product Passport Expands Utility
ItalyX confirmed that blockchain adoption will extend beyond company certifications. The technology will also be incorporated into Partner24ORE membership badges, Quality24ORE certifications, and certificates linked to training programs operated by the group.
In May 2026, the organization completed the rollout of a blockchain-based software solution for managing Digital Product Passports in line with the European ESPR Regulation. The Digital Product Passport system is expected to help companies organize and present product information in a standardized and transparent manner.
The new Digital Product Passport solution will allow businesses to track material origins, environmental impact, durability, reparability, and recyclability through blockchain-powered verification systems.
The passport can be accessed through QR codes or integrated NFC technology, while companies will also have access to customizable interfaces designed to function as digital showcases for their products. ItalyX indicated that this development represents another step toward creating a comprehensive digital platform capable of making corporate value visible and verifiable throughout supply chains.
ItalyX Stories Highlights Corporate Identity
Alongside the technological upgrades, ItalyX has introduced ItalyX Stories, a new editorial series dedicated to profiling certified companies through digital monographs. The initiative aims to showcase Italian entrepreneurial excellence by providing in-depth accounts of company identity, culture, strategy, and long-term vision.
Each publication will feature direct contributions from company leadership, including entrepreneurial families and executives, combined with corporate imagery and research prepared by the Centro Studi del Sole 24 Ore. The monographs will be distributed in digital PDF format and hosted within a dedicated section of the ItalyX website, creating an online archive focused on Italian business excellence.
ItalyX Stories will provide certified companies with a new international visibility platform through detailed digital monographs focused on innovation, heritage, and corporate strategy.
The first publication in the series will focus on EMU Group, one of the earliest ItalyX-certified companies. ItalyX also confirmed that the platform’s latest innovations will be officially presented during the 2026 Trento Economy Festival as part of a panel discussing the global expansion of Made in Italy businesses.
