Virtual asset exchange Korbit has announced the launch of its non-custodial personal wallet, known as the “Korbit Web3 Wallet.” Designed to operate on the Layer 2 “Silicon” network, the wallet aims to offer users a stable and high-speed transaction experience within the Ethereum ecosystem.
The Silicon network, developed through a collaboration between Korbit and blockchain technology firm OGIS under their joint venture “Hydro,” utilizes the Polygon Chain Development Kit (Polygon CDK) along with Zero-Knowledge Proof rollup technology. This infrastructure ensures enhanced transaction efficiency and security, positioning Silicon as a robust solution within the blockchain space.
Bridging Centralized and Decentralized Exchanges
Korbit is the first domestic virtual asset exchange to offer a personal wallet that integrates with the Silicon blockchain. This innovation enables users of centralized exchanges to manage their digital assets seamlessly. The Web3 wallet facilitates direct asset consolidation with the Korbit exchange and allows users to execute transactions through simple authentication methods such as biometric verification and easy password entry, significantly improving convenience.
Account creation for the Korbit Web3 Wallet is streamlined for existing Korbit account holders, enabling effortless onboarding. Additionally, users can verify their credentials and receive airdropped tokens without complex procedures, making asset management more accessible.
Expanding Web3 Connectivity with Wallet Connect
The Korbit Web3 Wallet also incorporates Wallet Connect functionality, which enables seamless data integration with external projects, services, and decentralized applications (DApps). This feature is expected to serve as a gateway between traditional Web2 services and the expanding Web3 ecosystem, fostering greater interoperability and user engagement.
To commemorate the launch of the Korbit Web3 Wallet, the exchange has announced a promotional event featuring a random box reward system. A total of 15 Ethereum (ETH) will be distributed among eligible participants who create a Web3 wallet and complete customer verification, including linking their accounts with Shinhan Bank. The event is scheduled to run from the 10th to the 21st of the upcoming month, providing users with an opportunity to benefit from the new service.
With this initiative, Korbit aims to enhance accessibility, security, and efficiency in digital asset management, reinforcing its position as a pioneer in the integration of centralized exchanges with decentralized blockchain technology.
