X2Y2, a prominent non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace, has entered into a multiyear partnership with Docomo, one of the largest telecommunication companies, and its subsidiary, “NTT Digital,” with the shared goal of bringing the next billion users into the emerging Web3 sector. The joint team has implemented various measures to turn this vision into a reality.
In a press release issued on July 12, Docomo and its subsidiary, NTT Digital, confirmed their collaboration with the X2Y2 NFT market platform. The joint team aims to combine their extensive efforts and capabilities to facilitate the social implementation of web3.
Launched in January 2022, X2Y2 is a decentralized NFT market platform that offers a range of features, including bulk listing and batch buying, to enable users to trade NFTs. The marketplace has rapidly grown to become one of the top platforms in terms of sales volume, total unique users, and sales count.
Collaboration Aims to Bring Next Billion Users into the Web3 Sector
Through this recent integration, Docomo, Japan’s largest telecom company, and X2Y2 aim to leverage their market power and influence to onboard a significant number of users into the web3 ecosystem. As part of the web3 adoption initiative, Docomo has renamed its subsidiary from “NTT Docomo” to “NTT Digital.”
NTT Digital has also established basic agreements with 13 companies, intending to collaborate with businesses across various industries to develop systems, create use cases, and establish rules. This infrastructure will play a vital role in driving the widespread adoption of web3.

Furthermore, NTT Digital has commenced its global efforts as a web3 enabler, working towards creating a favorable environment where investors, individuals, and companies can seamlessly and securely utilize web3 services. The fintech firm is committed to bringing onboard additional partners who can contribute expertise in security and payment services.
NTT Digital will provide web3 users with primary market exposure for development, content management, and trading using non-fungible tokens. Additionally, the firm will actively promote the creation of crypto assets, stablecoins, and the self-management of personal data through distributed IDs.
As an initial step towards offering web3 services, NTT Digital has commenced the development of a token wallet that will serve as the gateway to web3 services. This wallet aims to provide a user-friendly experience without requiring extensive knowledge of web3 or blockchain technology. It will offer features such as private key backup, biometric authentication, and fraud transaction filtering. The anticipated release of this wallet is scheduled for later this year.
